Purchasing Manager – Mechanical / HVAC
Location: Greater St. Louis Area | Full-Time
A long-standing, highly respected mechanical contractor in the St. Louis metro area is looking to bring on a Purchasing Manager to take ownership of material procurement across mechanical and piping scopes. This role plays a key part in keeping projects running smoothly, supporting both field operations and project teams across commercial and industrial work.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Oversee purchasing of mechanical and plumbing materials across multiple active projects
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate timely reorders based on project demands
• Build strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms
• Place and track purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on schedule
• Partner closely with Project Managers and field teams to anticipate material needs
• Review deliveries for accuracy and quality, resolving any discrepancies quickly
• Maintain organized records for invoicing, audits, and material tracking
What They’re Looking For:
• 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within mechanical, plumbing, or construction supply
• Solid understanding of materials used in commercial/industrial mechanical projects (piping, valves, fittings, etc.)
• Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
• Experience with inventory systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to stay organized and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
