JOB DESCRIPTION
A premier structural steel erector is seeking a Junior Estimator with strong attention to detail, initiative, and a desire to grow within the structural steel industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in estimating, preconstruction, and project coordination while working alongside experienced industry leaders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals
Support senior estimators in developing accurate cost estimates
Help determine labor, material, and equipment costs
Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotes
Assist with bid preparation and proposal development
Learn to identify project risks, logistics, and scheduling considerations
Participate in pre-bid meetings and internal estimate reviews
Maintain organized records of estimates and historical cost data
Collaborate with project managers, detailers, and field teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
0–3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or structural steel (internships acceptable)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (not required)
Basic understanding of structural steel or construction principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Exposure to estimating software (Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, or similar) is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Eagerness to learn and grow within the estimating function
COMPENSATION (Houston, TX Market):
Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 DOE
