Senior Estimator – Commercial General Contractor

We are partnering with a well-established commercial general contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving accurate, competitive, and strategic estimates on a wide range of ground-up commercial projects.

Position Overview

The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in developing conceptual budgets, hard bids, and negotiated proposals for commercial construction projects. This individual will collaborate closely with project executives, preconstruction teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure complete and competitive pricing that aligns with company goals and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for ground-up commercial construction projects
• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and hard bid estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and scope reviews
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Work collaboratively with operations and preconstruction teams during project pursuits
• Identify risk factors, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies
• Participate in project interviews and client presentations as needed
• Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating resources

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction preferred
• Strong preference for candidates with ground-up commercial project experience
• Experience with a commercial general contractor required
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Construction Management degree preferred, but not required
