Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Trust & Estates Attorney with a strong background in estate planning, tax strategy, wealth transfer, and business succession planning. This role focuses on advising mid to high-net-worth individuals and families on advanced estate and tax planning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and implement sophisticated estate planning documents, including irrevocable trusts and tax-efficient structures
- Advise clients on income tax, estate tax, transfer tax, and charitable planning strategies
- Structure and plan for pass-through entities (LLCs and LPs) and business succession matters
- Counsel fiduciaries on estate and trust administration and settlement
- Participate in client meetings (in-person and virtual) and maintain strong client relationships
Required Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school (law review experience preferred)
- Admission to the Illinois Bar
- Minimum of 4–7 years of experience in trust & estates, tax, or related practice
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, tax, or a related field
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced credentials such as LL.M. (Tax), CPA, CFP, or MBA
- Financial or accounting background
- Experience with Smokeball or similar case management systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage electronic and paper records efficiently
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods
