Senior Project Manager – Structural Steel (Data Center / Mission Critical)

A rapidly growing structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking a high-performing Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data center and mission-critical projects. This role is built for a results-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the urgency, complexity, and precision required for hyperscale builds.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of major structural steel projects from award through closeout, driving schedule, cost, and execution across detailing, fabrication, and field erection. This role requires the ability to manage 7,000+ ton projects, maintain aggressive schedules, and travel as needed to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural steel projects from award through closeout with full P&L accountability

  • Drive aggressive schedules and ensure on-time delivery for mission-critical builds

  • Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders

  • Oversee procurement, fabrication schedules, and supply chain coordination

  • Direct erection sequencing, field logistics, and jobsite execution

  • Travel to project sites to support field teams and maintain schedule performance

  • Lead coordination meetings with GCs, owners, and trade partners

  • Monitor costs, labor productivity, and overall project profitability

  • Ensure alignment between detailing, fabrication, and field operations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of structural steel project management experience

  • Proven success delivering large-scale projects (7,000+ tons)

  • Data center / mission-critical experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to perform in fast-track, high-pressure environments

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly

  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and standard PM tools

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Technical / AISC Expectations

  • Working knowledge of AISC standards and Code of Standard Practice

  • Strong understanding of fabrication workflows and connection coordination

  • Ability to interpret complex structural drawings and specifications

  • Familiarity with bolting/welding requirements and QA/QC standards

  • Ability to drive coordination across detailing, shop, and field operations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $120,000 – $155,000 (DOE)

  • Performance-based bonus tied to project success

  • Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO, 401k)

  • Travel support and per diem
