Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room

This is an amazing opportunity for candidates who are passionate about surgical procedures and want to contribute to saving lives in a critical care environment. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and ensuring the smooth operation of the OR.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a member of the surgical team
- Manage supplies and equipment in the OR
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Assist with OR setup and sterilization
- Apply safe techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Anticipate the needs of the Surgeon and assist as a nurse and assistant
- Transport patients and specimens as required
- Collaborate with RN for correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness and accuracy of surgical equipment and devices
Essential Job Functions:
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Follow infection control practices and protocols
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Graduate of a recognized Surgical Technologist program or in the last semester of an approved program
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and devices
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is a plus
