Job Description

Miscellaneous Metals Manager:

GPAC is partnered with a well-established steel fabricator to hire a Steel Detailer that has experience as a Project Manager to run the miscellaneous metals department. Due to an increasing work load the company needs to hire an experienced Steel Detailer, that can field measure, detail and model projects, and manage them to close out and completion. You will be responsible for creating steel drawings for fabrication and erection crews, coordinate with structural steel project managers for scheduling of production and installation.

They are a 2nd generation family owned and operated steel fabricator. Serving Wisconsin since 1971, the company is the go to name in Structural steel, Miscellaneous Metals, and Ornamental Metal. With over 60,000 sq ft of fabrication space, they can meet any commercial, municipal, educational, steel needs. 

Detailing Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Detail shop fabrication and erection drawings for Miscellaneous metals projects including stairs, handrails, as well as ornamental metals.
  • Generating a bill of materials for shop drawings, Review RFI's
  • Field Measure when needed
  • Interface with Customers to understand needs.
  • Maintain production and installation schedule
  • Coordinate with Structural Steel Project managers to close out jobs 

Detailing Project Manager Experience:

  • Detailing in Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, and/or SDS2 
  • Project management experience with miscellaneous steel projects
  • Background in steel construction
