Because of their continued growth, a general contractor in the local area is seeking an Commercial Construction Estimator  to join their team. Estimator Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The estimator will be responsible for working on several potential projects valued between $5M-200M.
  2. Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise by defining, implementing, and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices, and procedures.
  3. Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the firm's strategic direction.
  4. Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
  5. Establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates.
  6. Oversees and supports several projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
  7. Negotiation bids on new build projects.
  8. Review subcontractor proposals and level out the subcontractor proposals.
  9. Create subcontractor bid scopes of work.
  10. Perform quantity take-offs and square foot analysis and present in an organized manner.

Estimator Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of directly related experience, preferably in the commecrial/residential construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
  • Strong management skills and ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments and agencies.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and judge when to involve others.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to problem solve and generate innovative solutions.
  • Efficient in Procore, MS Office, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail applications
