Civil Litigation Defense Attorney – Join a Respected and Collaborative California Firm with Federal Court Exposure

This is an exciting opportunity for a defense attorney with a passion for litigation and experience in both state and federal courts.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters in both state and federal courts

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement proposals

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop effective litigation strategies

  • Maintain proactive and consistent communication with clients


Key Functions:

  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice to defense clients

  • Prepare and present oral and written arguments in state and federal court

  • Conduct depositions and witness/expert interviews

  • Review, analyze, and synthesize medical, financial, and case-related records


Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Admitted to practice law in California

  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation defense experience

  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills

  • Exposure to federal courts and familiarity with federal procedures is a plus

  • Thorough knowledge of California civil procedure and litigation practices
