Tool Room Manager
Seeking an experienced Tool Room Manager to lead and support our Tool & Die team. This role works closely with the Tool-Room Leader and Operations Manager to coordinate daily priorities and drive department success through hands-on leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of the Tool-Room, working first-hand with the tool-room leader to ensure all work is prioritized to meet production demand. Sets department policy and expectations, including safety, time & attendance, and conflict resolution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Follow and enforce all safety requirements and procedures
•Study specifications, blueprints, sketches, models, and shop data
•Collaborate with engineering and shop personnel to resolve tooling issues related to tolerances, service requirements, new builds, and cost
•Use CAD software (SolidWorks) to pull details from die designs for fabrication
•Examine new tooling, jigs, and fixtures; recommend design modifications
•Maintain sufficient spare parts inventory to minimize downtime
Supervisory Responsibilities
•Facilitate purchase of standard die components and fabrication materials
•Facilitate daily meetings with the tooling leader to align priorities with production demand
•Communicate with production scheduling to adapt to shifting needs
•Ensure proper training of department employees, including apprentices
•Troubleshoot and analyze tooling issues both in and out of the press
•Promote continuous improvement and team efficiency
•Coordinate with other managers and supervisors across departments
•Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
•Conduct performance evaluations and manage time/attendance via ADP
•Recommend process improvements and issue corrective actions as needed
Qualifications
•Minimum 10 years of tool and die related technical experience in progressive die stamping or equivalent
•Accredited journeyman’s toolmaker certification preferred
•Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
•Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks)
•Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teaching abilities
•Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
•Ability to maintain a Lock-Out/Tag-Out Authorization
