Company Overview

We are a leading construction firm specializing in miscellaneous metals fabrication, delivering high-quality structural and ornamental metalwork for commercial and industrial projects. We are seeking a skilled Estimator with experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication to join our team.

Position Summary

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects, including stairs, railings, and other structural metal components. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring competitive and precise bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine scope and requirements.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for metal fabrication and installation.

  • Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and suppliers to gather data and validate estimates.

  • Use estimating software and spreadsheets to create accurate and organized bids.

  • Present estimates to management and participate in bid reviews.

  • Monitor material costs and industry trends to ensure competitive pricing.

  • Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs and efficiency.

  • Maintain records of estimates, assumptions, and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating miscellaneous metals fabrication projects.

  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and installation methods.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
