Litigation Associate Attorney Position Overview: A well-established full-service business law firm in Northern California is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Merced office. This is a great opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to build a broad-based litigation practice in a supportive and community-oriented environment. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on litigation experience across a variety of practice areas, with mentorship and long-term growth opportunities within a highly respected firm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda

  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations

  • Assist in strategy development and client communications

  • Manage caseload and deadlines with attention to detail

  • Collaborate with team members on complex litigation matters

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar

  • Strong academic credentials and legal writing skills

  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver
