We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Associate Attorney. This is a fully remote position.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Representing clients in construction-related litigation, including, but not limited, claims for extra work, unforeseen conditions, change orders, defective plans and specifications, lost productivity, acceleration, extensions of time, delay damages, lien foreclosures and bond claims.
- Preparation of mechanic’s liens and bond claims.
- Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and related agreements.
- Advising clients on construction risk management, regulatory compliance, and insurance issues.
- Managing litigation caseloads, including depositions, court appearances, and motion practice, both independently and under supervision.
- Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda.
- Communicating effectively with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
- Maintaining strong client relationships by adhering to client guidelines and delivering exceptional service.
- Accurately recording and maintaining billable hours while ensuring all deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Admission to practice in the State of Connecticut is required.
- Federal Court experience is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction law or related litigation.
- Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to delivering error-free work.
- Experience with written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Additional federal court experience is a plus, especially in complex civil litigation.
- Billable requirement: 1900, annual bonus up to $25,000 with completed billables.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 401(k), monthly technology stipend, paid time off and a remote workstyle.
- Salary range: $100,000- $140,000.
