An large specialty crop operation in the Northwest region of Pennsylvania is looking to add a hands-on agronomist to their team to help support field operations, crop planning, and sustainable production practices. Entry-Level Agronomists encouraged to apply!!!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and execution of organic cropping plans, including potatoes and other specialty crops
Provide daily agronomic support during planting, cultivation, scouting, fertility, and harvest phases
Collect and interpret soil and tissue sample data; make nutrient recommendations based on findings
Support integrated pest management strategies aligned with organic certification standards
Maintain and troubleshoot farm equipment and machinery; coordinate basic repairs
Communicate agronomic updates and recommendations with team members and management
Contribute to field trials, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience in production agriculture
Demonstrated interest in organic farming and specialty crop production (potato experience is a plus)
Mechanical aptitude; experience operating and maintaining farm equipment
Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Attributes:
Prior experience in organic systems, especially potato production
Experience with field scouting, crop planning, and harvest operations
Background in basic mechanical repair and equipment maintenance
