Quality Control Manager - Construction Management
The Quality Control Manager (CM) is tasked with planning, executing, and overseeing quality assurance and control policies, programs, and efforts across various trades for construction management projects. This role ensures that quality standards are consistently achieved on every project and works collaboratively with others to drive positive improvements and support the company’s forward-thinking mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, execute, manage, and guide the activities of Quality Control staff to ensure adherence to applicable trade standards, contract documents, and the company’s quality management system.
Train and support quality control inspectors in understanding technical and quality control requirements per ASCE, ACI, AISC, ASME, AWS, RCSC, SSPC, and other codes for mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, and contract specifications.
Monitor inspection needs, acceptance standards, resolution of non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintenance of quality control records.
Partner closely with leaders of other trades to enhance quality and streamline work processes.
Oversee the effective implementation of the Quality Assurance Program for subcontractors and assist the Purchasing Manager in applying it to vendors.
Advise the Purchasing Manager on quality standards and collaborate on evaluating procurement sources based on Quality Assurance criteria.
Perform surveillance as needed to ensure the Quality Assurance Program’s effectiveness and update it for ongoing improvement.
Review new quality system documents and procedures, update existing ones as needed, approve, log, and distribute to relevant personnel.
Ensure compliance with all company safety and OSHA regulations.
Be prepared to work extended hours as required to maintain smooth project operations.
