Job Description

 The Field Sales Agronomist is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service while driving agronomy-related sales growth within a defined territory in Northwest Pennsylvania. This individual will work closely with growers to assess production challenges, recommend customized solutions, and support the implementation of sustainable agronomic practices that align with customer goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with area growers to support sales of seed, crop protection, and fertility programs

  • Conduct on-farm visits to assess agronomic needs, troubleshoot issues, and offer tailored recommendations

  • Collaborate with internal operations and supplier partners to deliver timely and efficient service

  • Create territory growth plans and track progress against business development goals

  • Stay up to date on emerging agronomic practices and product innovations

  • Provide education and insight to growers through seasonal planning, data interpretation, and scouting support

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a solutions-focused, consultative sales approach

  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to build trust with producers and provide sound agronomic recommendations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, or a related field preferred (but not required)

  • 3+ years of agronomy or crop input sales experience strongly preferred

  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation preferred or willingness to obtain within two years

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
