Estimator – Custom Fabrication & Metalworking
This company is hiring an Estimator with a background in welding and fabrication to develop accurate cost estimates for custom manufacturing projects in a job shop environment.
Responsibilities:
Review drawings and project specs to assess labor, material, and overhead costs
Use ERP (Epicor) and Excel to create detailed quotes
Coordinate with sales, engineering, suppliers, and customers to gather details and clarify scope
Analyze supplier pricing and negotiate as needed for outsourced materials and services
Document all estimating activities and participate in project handoffs to production
Requirements:
Experience estimating in a metal fabrication or welding environment
Strong skills in Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems
Comfortable reading blueprints and interpreting technical specs
Proven background in low-volume, custom job shop work
Degree preferred, or equivalent mix of education and hands-on experience
Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites as needed
