Senior Estimator – Structural & Industrial Fabrication
A well-established steel fabrication company is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and experienced fabrication professional with a deep understanding of estimating complex fabrication projects involving labor, materials, and subcontracted processes.
Responsibilities:
• Review project scope, drawings, codes, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
• Communicate effectively with customers to clarify project requirements and expectations
• Analyze customer requirements to create comprehensive manufacturing routings and cost breakdowns
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to gather pricing and scheduling information
• Identify risk factors, unclear requirements, and areas needing clarification
• Develop detailed quotation documents including inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions
• Support business development by converting proposals into purchase orders
• Follow up on submitted bids to track success rates and refine estimating strategy
• Review awarded contracts to confirm alignment with proposed scopes and terms
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships for repeat business and satisfaction
• Provide detailed and tailored solutions to meet client fabrication needs
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years in the fabrication industry, including 5+ years as an Estimator
• Associate’s degree in Welding, Machining, Drafting, or equivalent experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with Tekla PowerFab and Procore preferred
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Word skills
• Strong time management, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
• Some travel required for meetings and training
