Civil Litigation Defense Attorney Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to join our dynamic and growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-exposure, complex cases while collaborating with a talented group of attorneys in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Our firm has a strong reputation for delivering exceptional legal representation throughout California, focusing on the defense of clients across multiple industries.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. Our practice is dedicated to representing clients in business litigation, tort matters, employment disputes, medical malpractice defense, and product liability claims. This position provides significant client interaction, the ability to independently manage a diverse caseload, and opportunities for professional growth within a well-established and expanding firm. Key Responsibilities:

  • Defend clients in a variety of litigated matters, including  business litigation, tort matters, employment disputes, medical malpractice defense, and product liability claims.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and procedural motions.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Develop case strategies and provide legal analysis to clients, insurers, and risk management teams.
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams, experts, and outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Trial experience is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle a diverse caseload independently while meeting deadlines.
