Job Description

We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Manager for a food manufacturer south of Madison, WI. This position will supervise the maintenance teams of 2 production plants within the same town. Mentoring mindset with on the floor leadership style is critical. This is not an office position. Maintenance Tech leads and supervisors willing to train in a management position are encouraged to apply.

MUST HAVE FOOD MANUFACTURING MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE!

Job Responsibilities:

  • High visibility and time on our production floor helping team members identify machine malfunctions and prevent production shut down.
  • Applies knowledge of processes, equipment and system capability to set challenging individual and facility standards.
  • Coach supervisors to achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality
  • Oversee and assure facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
  • Oversee and supervise individuals and work teams in the performance of variety of work activities such as work process set up, assembly, evaluates efficiency of work processes and identifies and implement process improvements to optimize productivity.
  • Provides on the job skills and quality standards training to both new and seasoned employees to ensure that learning and self-development opportunities exist for staff.
  • While the primary role is supervisory in nature, it may be required to perform duties of assigned employees.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices and oversees the activities of other employees to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Reduce production downtime, and PM completion.
  • Builds the capability of maintenance technicians

Requirements:

  • Mechanical/Electrical experience maintaining food manufacturing equipment
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of company products, production processes and product standards
  • Skilled in use of all tools and equipment used for component manufacturing at location
  • Ability to execute plans/projects through others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprises resource planning (ERP) program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
