Tax Associate

Pittsburgh, PA Full-Time | On-Site or Hybrid Options Available

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join a dynamic team supporting clients with a variety of tax needs. This position offers hands-on experience across individual and business returns, with a focus on growth, mentorship, and long-term career development in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts

  • Conduct tax research to resolve complex issues and assist with strategic planning

  • Support clients during audits and respond to IRS or state tax authority inquiries

  • Maintain accurate and organized workpapers and supporting documentation

  • Utilize tax software and Excel to process data and generate reports

  • Stay informed of regulatory updates and tax law changes

  • Collaborate with senior associates and managers to ensure deadlines and client needs are met

  • Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold strong client relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 1–3 years of relevant tax experience (internships included); entry-level candidates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply

  • CPA candidate or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong time management with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced setting
