Join this excellent client working as an Entry-Level Safety Assistant, play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites, particularly those involving electrical work. This position typically works under the supervision of a safety manager or supervisor to identify and mitigate Electrical/Or Construction Hazards, implement safety programs, and promote a safety-conscious culture among workers.

Entry-Level Safety Assistant Key responsibilities

Assisting in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety protocols and procedures, aligning with company policies and regulatory requirements (like OSHA and other relevant electrical safety standards).

Conducting regular site inspections and audits, specifically focusing on electrical hazards (power lines, faulty equipment, grounding issues) and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Supporting the investigation of incidents and accidents, especially those related to electrical hazards, preparing reports, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Maintaining safety documentation and records, including incident reports, training logs, safety meeting minutes, etc.

Assisting with the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees, covering topics like electrical hazard recognition, safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Promoting a positive safety-first culture within the company and among workers on the construction site.

Collaborating with supervisors and team leads to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety practices.

Ensuring appropriate use of PPE by workers and ensuring availability and compliance.

Entry-Level Safety Assistant Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum education requirement, though an Associate's degree or coursework in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field can be advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, particularly related to Electrical/or Construction work, and relevant safety standards.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local Electrical Safety and Environmental Health & Safety regulations, including OSHA standards like 29 CFR 1926.403 (General Requirements) and 29 CFR 1910.333 (Selection and Use of Work Practices).
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Safety Certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, observational skills, and ability to identify safety-related exposures and propose corrective actions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying safety information and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry skills.
