Job Description

A well-established and locally respected ag retailer is looking to add an Agronomic Services Consultant to their team in South Central Pennsylvania. This is a relationship-driven role focused on supporting growers with customized fertility and chemistry recommendations, precision agriculture insights, and long-term crop planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with growers by providing agronomic support tailored to each operation

  • Develop crop nutrition and protection plans based on soil data, tissue sampling, and field observations

  • Utilize precision ag tools (e.g., imagery, grid sampling, yield maps) to guide decisions and optimize input use

  • Identify new business opportunities and grow the customer base through outbound engagement

  • Collaborate with internal sales and logistics teams to ensure timely, accurate service

  • Stay informed on agronomic trends, products, and technologies relevant to the region

  • Represent the company at grower meetings, field days, and industry events

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in agronomy, crop advising, or ag retail sales

  • Solid understanding of crop fertility, crop protection, and soil health

  • Familiarity with precision agriculture tools and platforms

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate agronomic recommendations clearly

  • Self-starter with strong time management and territory development skills

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the local area

  • Experience in business development or grower prospecting

  • Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) preferred
