Job Description

One of my top residential home builders is actively searching for a Land Development Manager! This highly respected builder is known for prioritizing mentorship, employee growth, and professional development.

The Land Development Manager will be responsible for acquiring undeveloped land or finished lots for new residential communities. This role requires close collaboration with property owners, brokers, land developers, city officials, and internal teams to drive land acquisition strategies forward.

Key Responsibilities of the Land Development Manager:

  • Coordinate, secure, and organize land acquisition leads

  • Respond to all new lead sources and perform initial outreach

  • Conduct title and municipal research; initiate cold calls on potential land deals

  • Facilitate meetings with sellers and/or their representatives

  • Provide detailed property info, terms, and contact details to leadership

  • Prepare Letters of Intent (LOIs) and negotiate purchase contracts

  • Maintain strong relationships with land developers, brokers, and landowners

  • Underwrite and analyze financials for each development opportunity

  • Communicate regularly with city officials and stakeholders

  • Travel overnight as needed

  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in residential construction or land development

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, real estate, or related field preferred

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
