Position Overview: Survey Project Manager

The Survey Project Manager will lead and manage a wide range of survey projects including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, IDOT plat of highways, and topographic surveys. The Survey Project Manager will oversee survey personnel, interact with clients, develop proposals, manage budgets, and ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.

Responsibilities for the Survey Project Manager

  • Manage boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and highway plats

  • Direct and oversee survey group personnel and team performance

  • Develop accurate project budgets, proposals, and schedules

  • Track project costs and maintain budgets across multiple large projects

  • Prepare plats, perform boundary calculations, and review technical deliverables

  • Research public records and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Qualifications for the Survey Project Manager

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with a minimum of 10 years of survey experience in Illinois

  • Strong technical expertise in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Trimble Business Center

  • Proficient in operating Trimble robotic total station and Trimble GPS equipment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing survey staff

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $95,000 – $135,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
