Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Project Manager. The successful candidate will serve as an account manager for key accounts including private and public sector clients, reviewing RFPs and preparing proposals, working on multiple projects, understanding the need for and being able to delegate responsibilities, and providing supervision to others. The candidate will act as the clients’ representative and primary point of contact between the client and the project team. Responsibilities include managing and working on building related environmental projects like Health and Safety Plans, healthy building audits, noise monitoring, risk assessments, ergonomics studies, hazardous material report review, and training services. The candidate will also mentor junior staff and assist in developing additional service lines. This role may involve working as an expert witness/subject matter expert in civil cases.

 

The position focuses on Building Sciences, which includes asbestos, lead, water intrusion, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality projects; thus, a strong understanding of building systems, construction materials use and composition, architecture, and construction management is highly valued.

 

Candidates should be energetic, experts in building systems, and health & safety concerns. Familiarity with computer operations (Mac OS), Microsoft Office, and basic drafting programs is mandatory.

 

CIH/Project Managers will attend regular scheduling meetings, coordinate the assignment of field technicians, and spend time at project sites throughout a specific region, with occasional travel across the state. They will also ensure the successful completion of projects by managing client outreach, proposal preparation, reports, and other project documents related to field operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

Graduate with BA/BS in environmental sciences, health & safety, industrial hygiene or building related fields or more years of experience performing health/safety, environmental, or industrial hygiene projects.

7+ years of CIH experience.

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), relevant state certifications.

Competent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of building systems & construction techniques.

Strong organizational abilities and strict attention to detail.

Computer literate.

Basic drafting skills.

Ability to read & understand construction drawings (architectural & MEP).

Willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends as projects require.

Good physical health and ability to wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment.

Ability to climb ladders, navigate crawl spaces, lift/carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
