Job Description

A respected flooring contractor is seeking a Flooring Sales/Estimator to add to their team. This company has been around for decades and is highly respected in the region.  They provide top-tier commercial flooring solutions with a commitment to quality, service, and long-lasting client relationships. 

Flooring Sales/Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Attend pre-install and project progress meetings
  • Read and thoroughly understand project drawings and specifications
  • Schedule deliveries and installation
  • Order and track product
  • Track progress and troubleshoot projects in the field
  • Estimate projects with accuracy, speed, and efficiency using our company’s estimating system
  • Proactively look for, respond to, and bid new site projects accurately
  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property managers, and clients to generate new sales opportunities
  • Conduct site visits and job walks to understand project requirements and build rapport with clients
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and product availability
  • Engage in value engineering and cost management to offer clients the best solutions
  • Other responsibilities related to this position may arise, and flexibility to assist where needed is essential

Flooring Sales/Estimator Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience with sales exposure preferred
  • Experience with Carpet Tile, Broadloom Carpet, LVT, VCT, Sheet Vinyl, Sheet Rubber, Resilient Flooring, and Base and Transitions
  • Proficient with Computer Assisted Drawing software for bid scope calculations
  • Experience with Measure Square and On-Screen Takeoff
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word for calculations and proposals
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and create multiple estimates simultaneously
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and construction schedules
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new project opportunities to grow the business
