About the Opportunity: A well-regarded firm in Washington, DC is seeking a talented Commercial Litigation Associate with 2–4 years of experience to join its growing practice. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious attorney who wants to work on high-stakes, complex disputes while receiving hands-on mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, shareholder issues, and other complex civil cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses with precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis to support litigation strategy.
  • Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and manage hearings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in preparing for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the litigation process.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in the District of Columbia (or eligibility to waive in).
  • 2–4 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with depositions, hearings, or trial preparation strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working in a collaborative team environment.
