Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator – Commercial Drywall Sector Employment Type: Full-time
Job Overview: We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Project Manager / Estimator to become part of our team in the commercial drywall sector. The ideal candidate will supervise all stages of drywall projects, from preparing cost estimates to managing daily operations and ensuring timely delivery of superior-quality work. This dynamic position demands a combination of technical know-how, organizational expertise, and leadership skills to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
Manage the complete lifecycle of commercial drywall projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Lead project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to guarantee on-time, on-budget, and within-scope completion.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements and specifications are satisfied.
Monitor project progress and adjust timelines, resources, and priorities to resolve challenges or delays.
Enforce safety standards and quality guidelines throughout all project phases.
Provide guidance and support to teams, including overseeing daily operations and resolving conflicts as they arise.
Cost Estimation:
Review project documents, blueprints, and specifications to generate accurate cost projections for commercial drywall projects.
Perform take-offs and calculate materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
Analyze bids and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and deliverables for clients and stakeholders.
Assess project risks and recommend cost-saving measures or design modifications to maintain budget compliance.
Track scope, timeline, and budget changes, and provide timely updates and change orders to clients.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and transparent communication.
Deliver regular project updates, including progress reports, budget tracking, and schedule modifications.
Address client concerns and issues promptly and professionally.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain complete project records, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial documentation.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filing of all project-related paperwork.
Compile final project reports, including post-project evaluations and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Experience:
3–5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Estimator in the commercial drywall or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques, materials, and industry standards.
Demonstrated success managing large-scale commercial projects from inception to completion.
Skills:
Expertise in cost estimating, with proficiency in software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or On-Screen Takeoff.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking capabilities.
Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of construction safety regulations and building codes.
Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to visit job sites occasionally, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on different job site environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 DOE (Depending on Experience)
