Associate Attorney – Insurance Coverage/Insurance Defense

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office per week)

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 base salary (depending on experience)

Bonus: Performance-based quarterly bonus structure

Billable Target: 1,800 hours

Position Overview: The firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Scottsdale, Arizona office. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work alongside highly respected attorneys in one of the country’s leading insurance coverage teams.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in insurance coverage, including opinion writing and insurance coverage litigation, and must be licensed to practice in Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft detailed coverage opinions, analyze policies, and advise insurers on complex coverage issues.

  • Handle insurance coverage litigation from initial pleadings through resolution.

  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare discovery responses.

  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients on strategy and case development.

  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality work and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Active Arizona Bar license required.

  • 3–5 years of experience in insurance coverage, including litigation and opinion writing.

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication, time management, and client service abilities.
