Job Description

Bridge Superintendent – Heavy Highway / DOT Construction

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bridge Superintendent to oversee field operations on heavy highway and DOT bridge projects, including new bridge construction, structural rehabilitation, and related concrete and steel work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridge and civil infrastructure construction, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage crews and subcontractors to deliver high-quality, safe, and on-schedule projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all field operations for bridge and structural projects

  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, engineers, and field crews

  • Ensure compliance with all project specifications, safety regulations, and DOT standards

  • Plan and schedule manpower, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain project progress

  • Monitor field performance, quality, and productivity to meet project goals

  • Train, mentor, and supervise field personnel and foremen

  • Collaborate with inspectors, subcontractors, and owners to ensure successful project completion

  • Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience supervising bridge or heavy highway construction projects

  • Strong understanding of DOT specifications, bridge construction methods, and safety protocols

  • Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate complex field operations

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites

  • Experience with concrete structures, steel erection, and formwork preferred
