Estimator – Commercial Construction Projects
Location: Greater Pittsburgh, PA area
Employment Type: Full-time, Immediate Start
Salary: $85K–$110K base (DOE) + performance-based incentives
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Estimator with a strong background in commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities, particularly projects with heavy MEP systems. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected, mid-sized contractor known for quality work, a collaborative environment, and a focus on developing strong team relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates at schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
- Develop material take-offs and labor/equipment pricing for self-performed scopes.
- Review and validate subcontractor bids and schedules.
- Present estimates confidently to management and clients.
- Review software-generated estimates for completeness and technical accuracy.
- Lead job buyouts and subcontractor negotiations.
- Support projects in cold storage, data centers, clean rooms, food processing, or other MEP-intensive facilities.
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, preferably in design/build projects.
- Knowledge of MEP systems and high-reliability facility requirements.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g., Sage Timberline, Excel, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat).
- Ability to prepare estimates in CSI format.
- Strong communication skills, including client presentations.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Professional demeanor, highly organized, and able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
