Assistant Project Manager – Federal Construction
A highly respected federal general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale government and DoD construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager and field leadership in coordinating all phases of construction — from preconstruction through closeout. This includes managing documentation, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and communication between the field, office, and client.
This position requires travel to project sites, which may include military bases or secured federal locations.
Support project planning, scheduling, and procurement activities
Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
Assist in budget tracking and cost control efforts
Collaborate with superintendents and subcontractors to maintain project progress and quality
Ensure all work meets federal compliance, safety, and reporting standards
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
2–5+ years of experience in commercial or federal construction
Experience supporting USACE, NAVFAC, or GSA projects is a plus
Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Willingness to travel as needed for project site support
