A respected and growing agribusiness in the New England region is seeking a Grain Merchandiser to manage origination, procurement, and marketing programs. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage origination programs with local growers, co-ops, and elevators
• Negotiate grain purchase, forward, and basis contracts to meet supply and margin targets
• Monitor grain markets, futures, and basis trends to inform trading strategies
• Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound shipments and manage inventory positions
• Ensure grain quality standards and compliance with customer specifications
• Build and maintain relationships with producers, brokers, and key partners
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and finance teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5+ years of experience in grain merchandising, origination, or commodity trading
• Understanding of basis trading, risk management, and market fundamentals
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Experience with organic, non-GMO, or specialty grain markets preferred
