About the Role:

The Process Engineer will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting machining processes across the production floor. This position focuses on process improvement, tooling design, and workflow efficiency to ensure high-quality output and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document efficient machining processes for new and existing parts.

  • Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Support CNC programming, setup optimization, and process troubleshooting.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Design, test, and implement tooling, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Evaluate tooling performance and recommend improvements in design, materials, or geometry.

  • Manage tooling standards, documentation, and supplier coordination.

  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.

  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities.

  • Assist in equipment selection, layout planning, and capital improvement projects.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

  • Participate in cross-functional training to gain comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations.

  • Support daily production planning, workflow coordination, and resource allocation.

  • Contribute to team leadership, employee development, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare to assume increasing responsibility leading toward the Manufacturing Manager role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–7 years of experience in a machining, metalworking, or precision manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in tooling design, process optimization, and CNC machining required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Hands-on approach with a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Leadership potential and interest in advancing into a management position.

  • Commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
