Attorney – Insurance Defense (5–10 Years of Experience)

An established Chicago litigation firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its insurance coverage & defense practice. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex and diverse matters involving construction, professional liability, property and casualty, serious personal injury, and wrongful death claims.

Position Highlights:

• Experience Level: Minimum of 5 years of substantive insurance defense experience.
• Practice Areas: Insurance defense litigation, including analysis of coverage issues, drafting opinions, and litigating declaratory judgment actions.
• Responsibilities: Independently handle all aspects of coverage and litigation matters, including:
  • Drafting coverage opinions and dispositive motions
  • Conducting and defending depositions (party and expert)
  • Preparing for and assisting in trial
  • Managing client relationships and case strategy
• Environment: Collaborative, fast-paced practice with strong mentorship and client interaction.
• Billable Hours: 1,900

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois bar admission.
• MUST have a minimum of 5 years of direct Insurance Coverage and or Insurance Defense Litigation experience.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases with minimal supervision.
• Portable business is welcome and will be considered in compensation discussions.
