Job Description

A power generation company operating in U.S. wholesale energy markets is seeking a Sr. Chemical Engineer to lead critical engineering functions supporting safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence while supporting a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in chemistry and water treatment within a power plant or municipal/government utility environment and is comfortable operating in a hands-on, technically focused leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering and technical services supporting power generation operations
  • Lead and manage chemistry and water treatment programs to ensure regulatory compliance and system reliability
  • Provide technical guidance related to plant chemistry, water systems, and treatment processes
  • Support safe, efficient operations aligned with industry and environmental standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to performance, safety, and cost efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in chemistry and water treatment within a power plant or municipal/government utility setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment systems, chemistry control, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead technical teams

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $120,000–$130,000
