Job Description

We are actively seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to support a strong and growing project pipeline across Colorado. This role is ideal for estimators with a background in large-scale infrastructure projects including roadway, bridge, excavation, utilities, and site development. The right candidate will play a critical role in securing high-value projects by developing accurate cost estimates, analyzing risk, and collaborating closely with operations and leadership teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-capitalized contractor with consistent backlog, strong leadership, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Partner with Project Managers and field leadership during preconstruction
  • Support competitive bid strategies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
  • Background with DOT, municipal, roadway, bridge, grading, or utility projects strongly preferred
  • Experience working for mid-to-large civil contractors highly desired (Kiewit, Ames, Granite, Flatiron, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost structures
  • Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110K – $150K (depending on experience)
