Quality Control Manager – Structural Steel Fabrication (On-Site)
A respected structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking a senior-level Quality Control Manager to lead shop-based quality operations at their fabrication facility in Westville, NJ (just west of Philadelphia). This is an on-site leadership role focused strictly on quality oversight within a 20-person fabrication shop.
This position is ideal for a seasoned steel professional with strong AWS/CWI credentials, deep AISC knowledge, and hands-on experience developing welding procedures and quality systems.
Oversee all quality control functions within the fabrication shop
Ensure compliance with AISC certification requirements and industry standards
Develop, write, and maintain welding procedures and quality manuals
Maintain and enforce WPS, PQR, and welding documentation
Monitor fabrication processes to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications
Coordinate inspections and maintain QA/QC records
Interface with project management, detailing, and shop leadership
Support continuous improvement of shop quality processes
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required
Senior-level experience in structural steel fabrication quality control
Demonstrated experience writing welding manuals, procedures, and WPS documentation
Strong working knowledge of AISC standards and certification requirements
Ability to interpret structural drawings and specifications
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication shop
Familiarity with bolting, welding, and steel QA/QC compliance standards
Experience supporting third-party audits and inspections
Salary: $110k to $140k DOE
