Construction Estimator – Restoration Industry (3+ Years Experience)
Location: Denver, CO (Metro Area) Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our restoration team in the Denver market. This role is responsible for inspecting properties, developing scopes of work, and writing accurate estimates for residential and light commercial restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Scope Development
- Inspect properties for damage (water, fire, mold, storm, hail)
- Develop complete and accurate scopes of work
- Write detailed estimates using Xactimate in line with carrier expectations
- Ensure estimates are thorough, well-documented, and aligned with project needs
Insurance & Adjuster Coordination
- Communicate directly with insurance adjusters to review and negotiate estimates
- Assist with supplements, revisions, and scope changes
- Ensure all estimates align with approved scope and carrier guidelines
Project Coordination & Handoff
- Collaborate with Project Managers and production teams for smooth job transitions
- Review scope and budgets to support efficient project execution
- Help identify potential cost or scope gaps early
Customer Interaction
- Meet with homeowners and property managers on-site
- Clearly explain scope, timelines, and expectations
- Build trust and maintain strong customer relationships
Documentation & File Management
- Maintain organized job files, including photos, notes, and estimate versions
- Ensure all documentation meets audit and compliance standards
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4 years of estimating experience in restoration or construction
- Proficiency in Xactimate (sketching, line items, notes, scoping)
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred
- Restoration experience (water, fire, mold, storm/hail)
- Experience working with insurance carriers and adjusters
- Exposure to supplements and negotiation
- Familiarity with CRM/job management tools (JobNimbus, DASH, ServiceTitan)
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills
