Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

We are actively seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction to join a growing and well-established contractor. This is a dedicated estimating role with no project management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on what you do best—winning work and driving accurate, competitive bids.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects including private residential developments, municipal/public infrastructure, and commercial sitework.

Project Types:

• Private residential subdivision development

• Public/municipal infrastructure projects

• Private commercial site development

• Roadway construction

• Earthwork and mass grading

• Underground utilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil projects

• Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents

• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Utilize estimating software to build and manage bids

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure bid accuracy and completeness

Qualifications:

• 5–7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction

• Strong knowledge of sitework, earthwork, grading, utilities, and roadway construction

• Proficiency in Bid2Win or HCSS (highly preferred)

• Experience with Agtek and/or InSite Earthwork takeoff software (highly preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $140,000 – $170,000 (depending on experience)

• 401(k) with 4%–6% company match
