Project Manager – Civil Demolition & Earthwork
The Company is a local, well-established, and highly respected civil contractor known for excellence in managing complex infrastructure and site preparation projects.
We are seeking a high-caliber Civil Project Manager to join our team and lead our demolition and heavy earthwork division. This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced professional seeking a challenging career where you will oversee high-stakes deconstruction and site stabilization projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Project Lifecycle: Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Demolition & Earthwork Strategy: Develop detailed Demolition Plans and Work Methods Statements, ensuring structural stability and efficient earthwork grading/excavation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project success and alignment with specifications.
- Environmental & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA 1926 Subpart T (Demolition) and manage hazardous material abatement (asbestos/lead) and utility "cut and cap" operations.
- Risk & Quality Control: Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Resource Management: Coordinate with internal teams, specialized demolition subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless site transitions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil experience in project management, with a proven track record in Demolition and Earthwork.
- Technical Expertise: Ability to read complex structural blueprints and oversee site-specific issues like storm drainage, shoring, and land use.
- Leadership: Strong ability to motivate teams, delegate assignments, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills for negotiating salvage values, disposal fees, and client expectations.
- Software: Proficient in project management software (Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD).
