Litigation Attorney Trucking & Catastrophic Injury

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in trucking and commercial vehicle accident cases. This role is ideal for a trial-focused attorney who understands the unique complexities of trucking litigation and is comfortable handling high-exposure cases from inception through resolution.

About the Role
You will represent individuals in serious injury cases involving commercial trucks and motor carriers. These matters often involve significant damages, complex liability issues, and require a deep understanding of industry regulations, driver conduct, and accident reconstruction. This is a hands-on litigation role with meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to work on high-value cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a docket of trucking and commercial vehicle litigation matters
  • Handle cases from filing through trial or settlement
  • Conduct depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
  • Work closely with experts, including accident reconstructionists and industry specialists
  • Develop case strategy, evaluate liability, and drive favorable outcomes
  • Negotiate settlements in high-value matters

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois bar admission.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience (plaintiff-side preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience handling trucking accident cases (minimum of ~10 cases strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of trucking regulations, roadway rules, and liability frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes cases
  • Trial experience or strong desire to be in the courtroom
  • Commercial case experience a plus
  • Experiencing litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus
  • Spanish bilingual skills are a plus

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Discretionary monthly bonuses (typically 3%–5%) based on performance
  • Significant upside-tied to case outcomes, including participation in litigation fees on high-value settlements
  • Hybrid work is available after 6 months.
