Precision Manufacturing – Complex Parts – Growth Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist - Lathe who can own the process from print to finished part, solving complex machining challenges and producing high-precision components. 

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Opportunities - Shift differential paid.

What you’ll do

  • Program complex parts across multiple CNC lathes, including machines equipped with live tooling, for a wide variety of geometric configurations.

  • Provide technical leadership to junior machinists, helping them troubleshoot and solve challenges within the lathe department.

  • Review prints and models (2D drawings and 3D solid models) to define the most efficient machining strategy, including operation sequence.

  • Select tooling intelligently for each job, taking into account proper speeds and feeds as well as machine capabilities and limitations.

  • Partner with Quality and apply a strong working knowledge of GD&T to ensure parts meet all dimensional and tolerance requirements.

  • Collaborate across teams by clearly communicating with engineering, quality, production, and other departments on a daily basis.

  • Inspect your work using a variety of manual inspection tools to verify dimensions both at the machine and off the machining center.

It’s a plus if you have

  • Experience with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks and/or FeatureCAM.
  • Hands-on background setting up and programming live-tooling lathes and Swiss-style lathes.
  • Experience with CMM inspection, layout inspection, optical comparators, and strong metrology fundamentals.
  • Comfort working in a low-volume, high-mix job-shop or similar manufacturing environment.
