Job Description

Litigation Attorney (Personal Injury / Complex Cases)

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our growing personal injury practice. While this role includes exposure to trucking and commercial vehicle accident cases, we are open to candidates with a broader personal injury litigation background who are eager to handle complex, high-value matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trial-focused attorney who wants to take on more sophisticated cases and expand into higher-exposure litigation, including matters involving commercial vehicles and catastrophic injuries.

About the Role

You will represent individuals in serious injury cases ranging from standard personal injury matters to more complex claims involving commercial vehicles and significant damages. These cases often involve challenging liability issues and require strong litigation skills, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a docket of personal injury litigation matters, including more complex cases as assigned
  • Handle cases from filing through resolution (settlement or trial)
  • Conduct depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
  • Collaborate with experts such as medical professionals and, when applicable, accident reconstructionists
  • Develop case strategy, evaluate liability, and drive favorable outcomes
  • Negotiate settlements across a range of case values

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois bar admission
  • 3–7+ years of litigation experience (plaintiff-side personal injury preferred)
  • Experience managing cases independently from inception through resolution
  • Strong litigation skills, including depositions and motion practice
  • Trial experience or a strong desire to be in the courtroom
  • Experience with trucking or commercial vehicle cases is a plus, but not required
  • Ability and interest in handling more complex, high-exposure matters over time
  • Spanish bilingual skills are a plus

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Discretionary monthly bonuses (typically 3%–5%) based on performance
  • Additional upside tied to case outcomes, including participation in fees on larger settlements
  • Hybrid work schedule.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
