Job Description

🔥 Mechanical Design Engineer – Build What You Design (Not Just CAD It)

Location: West-Central, IN (On-Site)
Pay: $85,000 – $130,000 + Full Benefits

Tired of designing parts that disappear into a black hole after release?

This is a hands-on Mechanical Design role where you’ll actually see your work come to life—on the floor, in real time, from concept through final build and testing.

This isn’t just another Mechanical Design role—it’s an opportunity to join a growing custom machinery builder where your work is highly visible and directly impacts the final product. With nearly 50 years of success and recent expansion, our partner offers the stability of an established business combined with the energy of a team in growth mode, and is adding a key engineer to the team due to increased demand.

This is not a “sit behind a screen” role—this is for someone who wants to own projects, solve real problems, and be involved in the full build process. Engineers here don’t get siloed—you’ll own projects from concept through build and testing, working side-by-side with machining, fabrication, and controls to bring complex equipment to life.

If you’re someone who wants variety, real ownership, and the satisfaction of seeing your designs built and running on the floor, this is the kind of environment that keeps engineers engaged long-term.

🚀 Why This Role Is Different:

  • Own the full lifecycle – concept → design → build → test → production
  • All custom work – no repetitive, cookie-cutter designs
  • Hands-on environment – work directly with machinists, fabricators, and controls
  • High visibility – your work directly impacts the final product
  • Stable + growing – nearly 50 years in business with recent expansion
  • Modern facility + updated equipment

🛠 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design custom machinery and mechanical systems from the ground up
  • Collaborate directly with shop floor teams to bring designs to life
  • Support build, testing, and real-world troubleshooting
  • Solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment

🎯 What We’re Looking For:

  • Mechanical Design experience (machinery, equipment, or custom systems preferred)
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks highly preferred)
  • Understanding of machining, fabrication, and real-world manufacturing
  • Someone who wants to be hands-on, not just behind a desk

💰 Compensation & Benefits:

  • $85,000 – $130,000 base (based on experience)
  • Health, Dental, Vision
  • 401(k) with match
  • Long-term growth with a stable, expanding company

Bottom Line:

If you want a role where you build what you design, own your projects, and actually see the results of your work, this is it.
