Senior Labor & Employment Defense Attorney / Junior Partner


Location: Sacramento, CA or Remote (Bay Area, CA) with monthly Sacramento travel a few times per/mo
Compensation: $180,000–$200,000 DOE
Work Arrangement: Hybrid or Remote Depending on Location

 

Established California-based litigation firm is seeking a Senior Labor & Employment Defense Attorney or Junior Partner to join its growing practice. This role is ideal for an experienced employment litigator looking for leadership opportunities, strong autonomy, and a flexible work environment.

The firm represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including wage & hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, PAGA claims, and class actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage employment defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Appear in state and federal court proceedings
  • Provide strategic counseling and risk analysis to employer clients
  • Mentor associates and assist with practice development as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Active California Bar license
  • Significant experience in labor & employment defense litigation
  • Strong background handling complex employment matters independently
  • Experience with depositions, mediations, and law & motion practice
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Portable business is welcomed but not required
