Job Description

Position Summary The Business Banker is responsible for developing, managing, and growing relationships with small to middle-market business clients through the origination, underwriting, and servicing of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans. This role focuses on business development, credit analysis, relationship management, and cross-selling deposit and treasury management solutions to support client growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with business clients to identify lending and banking opportunities.
  • Originate, structure, negotiate, and close C&I loans.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral to assess creditworthiness.
  • Prepare and present credit packages for approval in accordance with bank policy.
  • Manage an existing portfolio while maintaining strong asset quality and risk management practices.
  • Generate new loan and deposit growth through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Cross-sell treasury management, deposit, and other commercial banking products.
  • Conduct regular client and prospect calls to deepen relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Monitor loan performance, financial reporting, and covenant compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Average of 2MM to 8MM per deal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of commercial banking, business banking, or C&I lending experience.
  • Strong credit underwriting, financial analysis, and cash flow analysis skills.
  • Experience evaluating business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Proven business development and relationship management abilities.
  • Knowledge of commercial loan structures, documentation, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
