We are currently seeking an ambitious and results-oriented Outside Sales Representative to join a growing organization within the Building Materials industry. This individual will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth throughout the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will:

• Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with new and existing customers.

• Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand market share and increase company profitability.

• Build long-term partnerships with contractors, builders, and industry professionals.

• Consult with customers to identify project needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.

• Facilitate product selection and provide expert guidance on building material applications.

• Prepare and communicate pricing, quotations, delivery schedules, and service commitments.

• Estimate material quantities from blueprints and construction documents provided by customers and contractors.

• Manage and service existing accounts while identifying opportunities for additional business growth.

• Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Assist with accounts receivable collections when necessary.

• Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, products, and competitive offerings.

• Attend training programs and participate in ongoing professional development activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall business objectives.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

✔ Previous outside sales experience, preferably within the Building Materials, Construction, Lumber, Roofing, Windows, Doors, Millwork, or related industries.

✔ Proven ability to develop new business and maintain strong customer relationships.

✔ Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

✔ Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.

✔ The ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents is strongly preferred.

✔ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

✔ The ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize company-specific software systems.

✔ Strong mathematical aptitude, including the ability to calculate percentages, commissions, discounts, and material estimates.

✔ Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

✔ Flexibility to work a schedule that may include occasional evenings or weekends as business needs dictate.

✔ A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.

• Regularly sit, stand, walk, communicate, and use hands for various tasks.

• Occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.

• Travel throughout the assigned territory is required.
