Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document findings.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions safely and effectively.
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.
  • Supervise and support nursing assistants and other support staff.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in South Dakota.
  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing compassionate patient care.

Preferred

  • One to five years of experience in acute care, emergency nursing, critical access hospitals, or swing bed services.
  • Previous experience caring for patients across multiple levels of care is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting patients throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical demands associated with direct patient care.
