Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document findings.
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions safely and effectively.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.
- Supervise and support nursing assistants and other support staff.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in South Dakota.
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing compassionate patient care.
Preferred
- One to five years of experience in acute care, emergency nursing, critical access hospitals, or swing bed services.
- Previous experience caring for patients across multiple levels of care is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting patients throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands associated with direct patient care.
